Take advantage of the spring seedling sale, offered by The Colonel William F. Fox Memorial Saratoga Tree Nursery. Operated by the DEC, the nursery produces tree and shrub seedlings for conservation plantings on both public and private lands. Of note: native New York seed sources are used when available.

Note these are bare root seedlings ranging from 5-14". Most are sold in minimum units of 25. Each description indicates those that are native species that support at least 60 species of insects for birds to raise their young, or native species that provide food for pollinators.
