Now there’s a new way to leave your mark on Western New York: Gardens Buffalo Niagara has launched the Living Gardens Legacy Society.

We’re often not able to give as generously during our lives as we might like to. Leaving a gift in a will is a great way to support the vital work of Gardens Buffalo Niagara and Garden Walk Buffalo.

The Society is here to spread the word: Your legacy can make an impact for generations to come.

Through planned giving you can transform communities through gardening.  From community gardens, environmental initiatives, and other projects to improve neighborhood health, your gift can transform communities for generations. And we’re proud to celebrate our founding Living Gardens Legacy Society members, Cheryl Bell and Cindy and Peter Loomis!

Cindy is a past three-term president of Garden Walk Buffalo. She and her husband Peter have had their Sixteenth Street garden on the Walk since 2002.

Cheryl is a long-time volunteer having worked on everything from planning parties to copy-editing publications like the Garden Walk Buffalo Map and the 20th anniversary Garden Walk Buffalo magazine.

But you don’t have to be a volunteer to leave a legacy. Anyone can.

Planned giving is promised gift made through your will–of any size.

It can include things like bequests, stocks, real estate, and more. Your lawyer or financial advisor can help you make your mark on Buffalo through a legacy gift. If you don’t have a will, state law will direct your property be distributed under a one-size-fits-all statutory formula which is unlikely to fully reflect your wishes.

Garden Walk Buffalo has been around for 25 years, a bequest to the Living Gardens Legacy Society can be your contribution to keeping it going for the next 25 years!
