Spring is just around the corner!  Chances are you're already providing wildlife with the elements required to certify your garden as a Wildlife Habitat.  Take the next step!

Many gardeners have already created wildlife friendly habitats by naturally choosing plants, water features, and a composition that provides shade and protection for our native creatures.   Why not let visitors know you're wildlife friendly?  It's EASY to certify your garden as a bonafide "Wildlife Habitat", and proudly display a sign that says so!

Simply visit the National Wildlife Federation Certification page, and complete the required fields.  There's even a nifty "checklist"  to help ensure that you have the required elements for each of the following:

  • Food (minimum of 3 sources)

  • Water (a small dish with pebbles would be enough)

  • Cover (2 sources)

  • Places to Raise Young (2 places)

  • Sustainable Practices (rain barrel, no pesticides, native plants for example)

There is a fee of $20 to apply, which also includes:

  • A personalized certificate

  • Subscription to their e-newsletter, Garden for Wildlife

  • A one-year membership and subscription to National Wildlife® magazine

  • 10% off catalog merchandise, including nesting boxes, feeders, birdbaths, etc. to enhance your wildlife garden

  • Exclusive option to purchase attractive garden signs using their new logo

What are you waiting for?   Certify your garden now, before your garden awakens!
